Social Responsibility

Uche Nwokedi & Co. recognizes that as a law firm, it owes a social responsibility to the community at large and in this regard undertakes some pro bono work for the less privileged.

UNC has played a pioneering role in the establishment of the Playhouse Initiative, a non-profit organization which uses music and drama to mentor young people, and to provide a medium for positive communication and moral direction. To this end, the foundation regularly organizes drama, dance and music workshops for these young people.

Over the years, the Playhouse Initiative has successfully organized and produced several recitals, musical revues and musicals such as ‘Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat’, ‘Jesus Christ Super Star’, ‘The Vision’ and the award winning ‘Kakadu the Musical’, which was written by Uche Nwokedi SAN. The proceeds from these productions are committed to charity such as the Leper’s Colony and the Pacelli School for the Blind and Partially Sighted.
